Our Mission

We're fostering a stronger support network for St. Louis regional veterans by partnering with local organizations to synchronize efforts and streamline access to care, ensuring more veterans receive the resources they need to live healthier, more fulfilling lives, and ultimately reduce veteran suicide rates.

Who We Serve

We are proud to serve St. Louis-area veterans of all ages and from all branches of service by connecting them to essential resources (such as housing and healthcare) and integrating them into a community of fellow veterans. We also support regional veteran organizations, amplifying their efforts and streamlining services to strengthen the veteran community.

Colonel Ted Hodgson, USA, Retired

Meet the Founder

Colonel Ted Hodgson is the President and founder of Saint Louis Vets Connect. Over his 34-year military career, Colonel Hodgson rose from Private to Colonel, serving in active and reserve roles with distinction. His final military assignment was as the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) Logistics Strategic Policy lead, where he developed and implemented the Northern Distribution Network and Silk Road Initiative, pivotal strategies supporting Afghanistan's economic development and international logistics.

Colonel Hodgson has led high-level negotiations with Central Asian and Jordanian governments, ensuring critical support for U.S. military operations and infrastructure projects. His leadership earned him numerous awards, including the Legion of Merit and Defense Meritorious Service Medal.

After retiring in 2012, Colonel Hodgson earned an Executive MBA from Washington University in St. Louis and joined advisory boards for the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) St. Louis Chapter and Saint Louis University’s Center for Supply Chain Excellence. A passionate advocate for veterans, he continues to make an impact through Saint Louis Vets Connect and as a mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.

Saint Louis Vets Connect is an America's Warrior Partnership (AWP) Certified Organization

As a certified partner, Saint Louis Vets Connect utilizes the AWP Community Integration Model to proactively connect regional veterans, their families, and caregivers with vital resources and opportunities. This proven model, implemented in communities across the country, has supported over 56,000 veterans by fostering collaboration among local organizations and improving veterans’ quality of life.

 

By adopting this customizable and dynamic framework, Saint Louis Vets Connect strengthens its mission to build a thriving community for veterans in the greater St. Louis region and contributes to the critical effort to end veteran suicide.
